Meeting with the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Theresa May MP
I was delighted to recently be invited to Number 10 Downing Street with my fellow Conservative MEP colleagues from across the UK, to discuss the outcome of the recent referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union with our new Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Theresa May MP, and how we now go forwards.
It is essential that we all now work together to ensure that we secure the best terms possible for UK businesses and services to access the EU single market, whilst not being a member of the EU.
My work over the past seven years on EU financial services legislation stands me in good stead to work with my Westminster colleagues to ensure that the financial services sector, in particular, finds a workable solution going forwards.
This is just the beginning of the hard work that we, as elected politicians must now undertake, to answer the will of the British people.
